We had a fantastic World Book Day here at New Penshaw. What a great effort by all children and their families with some very creative costumes. 

The children began their day by spending some time with Kerrie from Usborne Books talking about her job and what Usborne do. They then had a chance to take their time looking through a whole range of books n offer, discussing with their friends what they liked and why. They made wish lists and some wen to buy the books at the Book fair at the end of the day.

The whole school participated in a Book Project based on the story "The Dot" by Peter H. Reynolds: a wonderful story about Art and Creativity for children. We produced some beautiful artwork and had some very interesting discussions about the lessons and meaning within the story, and what the author's intention was when he wrote it.
